Photo Etching

I have recently been developing a new Etching process called Photo Etching.
Basically, on a polished copper surface is etched an image with the etched areas treated with a patina (a chemical) that permanently turns the recessed areas black and brown and the unetched areas left with the copper shining through.

I tried to etch my own drawings but wasn’t getting the detail I wanted & came across photo etching which has been developed by a few Printmakers who in turn have used the technology from industrial computer circuit board manufacturers. You can get incredible detail. I added the Metalworking technique of patination.

This Artwork will literally last hundreds of years due to the way it was made.
